Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium is located near the
theme park, near the parking, and consists of 37
tanks that reconstruct themed environments and
natural habitats where you can admire thousands
creatures (more than 5.000), representing
hundreds animal species, from the most known and
also present in Lake of Garda to the most
strange and exotic. Among these last it is
remarkable the presence of many sharks in the
ocean basin, which measure 14 meters long and 13
meters wide with a depth of about 5 meters for a
total of 851.000 gallons of water. The
particularity of this basin is that the visitors
can go through a semi-circular tunnel crossing
the
section to observe the sea creatures from an
original point of view.
S.O.S. ( Save our Seas)
The teaching
vocation of Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium is very strong and
the objective is to made "edutainment",
education and fun. Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium
is not just a simple aquarium but a succession of mysterious
and fascinating worlds. The visitor has the impression of
entering a vessel and
discover, room after room, the most beautiful
underwater environments. More then 5.000
specimens are proposed belonging to 100 different species
ranging from starfish to seahorses, from sharks
to the mysterious jellyfish.
Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium, also supports
several initiatives in the field of research,
safeguarding and preserving the environment
through environmental program SOS (Save our Seas).
Early promoter of a series of high profile
petitions, SOS will seek legislative actions in
favor of various species such as sea turtles,
sharks, whales and dolphins. The great
importance of protecting our seas is also
reaffirmed in "SOS Room", the last room of the
Gardaland Sea Life Aquarium, in which are
outlined initiatives to raise awareness for adults and
children to issues related to environmental protection,
endangered species and the possibility of reducing the
impact of entire human activities.
