Touristic resorts of Garda Lake
From north to south Lake of Garda is a
succession of prestigious resorts and tourism facilities that
will satisfy even the most demanding tourist. The Garda Trentino,
northern end of Lake Garda, in particular the town of Riva del
Garda, Lido di Torbole and Arco are paradise for the lovers of
sailing and windsurfing; here are held regularly important
national and international regattas. A little bit south lies the
Riviera of Olives, an area full of coves and shores, villages
and castles, extending around 50kms to the town of Peschiera del Garda. The most famous tourist destinations of the
Riviera degli Olivi are: Garda, Bardolino, Lazise and
Castelnuovo del Garda. Between Lazise and Peschiera are some of
the most important theme park in Italy as Gardaland, Movieland
and Aquaparadise. Continuing along the south coast, you can found Sirmione,
famous for its historic center and thermal bath; Desenzano,
popular among the young for its nightlife and great nightclubs.
Again continuing along the coast and up north, a Mediterranean
landscape alternates to the Alpine country of Salò, Gardone
Riviera (famous for the Vittoriale, home of Gabriele d'Annunzio),
Toscolano Maderno, Gargnano, Tignale, Tremosine, Magasa,
Valvestino up Limone sul Garda where, thank to the mild climate of
the Lake, is plenty of citrus cultivations.

Garda Lake's Islands
In the
lake there are five islands: the largest is the Island
of Garda with a beautiful eighteenth-century
Venetian-style palace. Closer the Isola of San Biagio,
also called "the Rabbits", which is about 200 meters
far from the coast (reachable by foot during dry periods). Both are located near San Felice del Benaco
on Salò coast and Brescia side. Another island, the
third largest, is the Island Trimelone famous for
being a powder keg on which were collected
unexploded bombs during the first and the second world
wars. The other two, smaller, are Dream Island,
also reachable by foot in dry periods as the distance from
the coast is just 20 meters (peninsula dreams) and the
Isle of Olives. There are also many other rocks,
especially between the islands of Garda and San Biagio
which, depending on the season are more or less
appearing, and are adequately signalled as they
are a danger to navigation.
Wellness
Many resorts overlooking
Lake of Garda are famous for their thermal baths. Among these
are very important the thermal baths of Sirmione,
Bardolino and Lazise. Along the entire
perimeter of the Lake are located dozens of thermal
bath
/ wellness centers where is possible to have few
hours of relax and tranquility.
